Integrated Pest Management for the Home Garden

February 26 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

with Adam Romero

Adam thinks a lot about pesticides. He is an Associate Professor at the University of Washington Bothell where he researches the histories of agriculture and industrial chemicals. Adam has been a Master Gardener for 13 years and strives to grow as much food as possible at his house in the Cascade foothills.

This presentation explores the basics of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) for the home garden. IPM is a scientific ecosystem level approach to manage pests in a more sustainable manner. The talk covers philosophical aspects of IPM alongside practical strategies and measures that home gardeners can take to reduce pest populations.
