The 37th Award Winning Whidbey Gardening Workshop is a full day of focused classes, panel sessions, hands-on learning, demonstrations and a gardening Marketplace.

Throughout the day, attendees can visit the vibrant Marketplace for free gardening demonstrations, a bookstore with book signings by our instructor/authors, and local vendors with exciting products for your garden and gift-giving.

The 2026 Workshop will explore many avenues of gardening. Our Keynote speaker, will be John Christianson, Owner, Christianson’s Nursery & Greenhouse.  Located in the Skagit Valley, Christianson’s is a gardener’s haven with vintage greenhouses filled with roses, perennials, common and uncommon plants, artwork, and the gentle cooing of doves in ornate cages. For over 35 years, John and Toni Christianson have helped gardeners solve their gardening challenges with on-staff horticulturists, seminars, and an amazing variety of flowering plants, trees, shrubs, bulbs, and more.

The Whidbey Gardening Workshop is the major fundraising event of the Island County Master Gardener Foundation, which exists to support the Master Gardener program of Whidbey and Camano Islands. Funds raised make it possible for Master Gardeners to carry out our mission to provide the community with education in science-based gardening and environmental stewardship.
